You will have plenty of opportunity to practice your English with Elizabeth and her two outgoing, active, and talkative children, Alexandra, 9, and Erik, 7. Elizabeth works as an administrator at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Alexandra and Erik are in Elementary School. Elizabeth also has 3 very friendly cats, but they will not go in your bedroom. This family enjoys spending time together and participating in cultural activities. In the summertime, this family loves to barbeque outside. While English is the main language spoken in their home, they also speak Hungarian and the children are being raised to be bilingual. Elizabeth has someone to help her with child care while she is at work. A friend of the family, Vanda, is currently living with the family. She is from Hungary and speaks English very well.
Elizabeth has hosted many international students and she loves the experience. This family can't wait to meet you!

Your host lives in a lovely single-family house on a tree-lined street in historic Oak Park, a suburb just west of Chicago. Make sure to take advantage of the many parks, restaurants and shops in this diverse, friendly, and safe community. It was also once home to the renowned author Ernest Hemingway and celebrated architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Elizabeth can host up to 5 students in her home. There is a shared room on the first floor and 3 single rooms in the finished garden level. You will have access to a washer and dryer and the Internet in the home.
